José Luís is an artist who actually would not need an introduction because his paintings speak for themselves.
It is possible to enumerate all the expositions in which he participated(2nd Festival de Cultura del Caribe – Museo de la Isla, I Bienal de pintura
“Joaquin Clausell” de Campeche, Galeria del Teatro Mérida and so on but still…you would not get to the heart of his work and his dedication to creating art in his own unique style.
Whether it is contempary, impressionism/expressionism, or abstract every time as any spectator who tries to capture the moment he is in you will take a deep breath before to realize that José Luís must have a connection to a world that is beyond our imagination.
A world in which any creation is like his own “maya flower” that has not seen the light of day yet but is waiting to be revealed soon in his deepest thoughts… It is therefore no surprise that his work was already elected by some museums for recent exhibitions.

About the Artist
José Luís Couoh Puc was born August 1963, in the city of Tekax,
Mexico.
At the age of 16 he entered into the Artschool of CEDART, Mérida
where he used to work with other painters.
When he was 20 he was admitted to the State Academy of Bellas Artes in
Mérida where he became first recognized as an artist.
July 15, 1993 he was given the certificate of recognition by the Universidad
Autónoma de Campeche on the occasion of the I Bienal de Pintura del
Sureste “Joaquin Clausel”. |
